Longform content to watch on Youtube while you eat/work (my July watchlist)

As someone who loves Youtube and long form content. I wanted to put together a list of 15 (+bonus) videos I watched in July in case you need something to watch while you eat.


note that these are in no particular order, watch what stands out to you



I first started watching Allyson back when she did her first “Making My Summer Wardrobe” series and it lit a fire under me to start existing in a free flowing state of creativity and my interests. Anytime she posts, I finish the video feeling so inspired to use my hands to make something. Her videos have no other focus except fashion and matcha and that’s something I really appreciate about her. Not sacrificing privacy for views. She’s the best.

There are multiple parts to this and it gets better. This first one was absolutely brutal to watch. But line up videos are always entertaining.

I had a moment in July where I was binging Meg Stalter interviews. She is so funny and talented. This is just one of many podcasts I watched her on. I loved the dynamic her and Drew shared. Drew knows how to initiate a good conversation.


My TV show of July was “Black-ish” so Keke really did her big one for me having BOTH Jennifer Lewis and Tracee Ellis Ross on her podcast. I think that both of those women are really admirable and are a great representation for different generations. I love hearing from the women before me because I feel like these conversations prepare me for the future. From talking about knowing yourself and being it unapologetically, to mental health diagnoses and addictions. I recommend watching both!

It’s been a long time since I’ve heard The Internet's thoughts as a collective. I really enjoyed this conversation. I think conversation surrounding projects, music and inspiration are important because it puts music into perspective. Music is a reflection of the individual's experience as well as a representation of a state in time. Musicians have a way of releasing the right music at the right time and it was nice to hear them speak about the time behind the scenes as well as their different avenues both solo and united.

With a title like that, I couldn’t help but be drawn to the video. As a woman, I often find myself thinking about how far my gender has come and how recently those barriers were broken. How new freedom is for my generation. Hearing these women who still walk this planet speak about such horrific experiences so openly was so eye opening. Each of their perspectives. The vulnerability. These women had such an open conversation about things that were once normalized. I have so much to say about this video (as well as the different parts to it) but most of all, I’m again, just so thankful to women who speak up!

I love Steve Lacy. He is one of my favourite artists ever. Any video that gets him talking for an hour is golden globe worthy to me. Stream “Oh yeah?”.

It was my first time watching this podcast and it was exactly what I needed. If you need a pick me up, this video is so great. Listening to this is an act of self love.



It is so fascinating that you can tell a story from ancient remains. A story still lies within something even though it occurred so long ago. I loved listening to this. I think a theme I have going for these videos shows how connected I feel to history and how much I know it impacts the now. Nothing is new! The more ya know!

This is one of my favourite channels. It’s about these guys who go around seeking connection all around the world. They show that there is no barrier in connection. I love seeing their adventures and listening to the stories they make out of each video. I’d highly recommend their series “Hitchhiking across America”. They always cause happy tears. This episode was special because they visited Jamaica and I love my culture. 



Emma Chamberlain is a powerhouse. I love when she speaks about her career and business. She is such a bright woman and this conversation demonstrates her wisdom. This is a great conversation for entrepreneurs to listen to. I’m really happy the Emma’s sat down together. 



Tisha Campbell is so charismatic. She’s so funny. Such a character. I love the light humour Marcos show offers. This was a great watch. Tisha is currently promoting a book about her experience raising a neurodivergent son.

I laughed the entire time. This is such a fun concept and the people were really entertaining. Watch if you want company while you eat.

If you like True Crime and interrogation type videos. This was a disturbing case.



I clicked for Bobbi and Suki but stayed for Matt. This series is so good. I love the concept and now I gotta work so I can make 104 acres because his farm is gorgeous. I think Bobbi and Suki need a redo post pregnancy though because I need a little more enthusiasm. There are a few episodes to choose from so pick your poison.
